About this trip

Australia’s unique allure is boundless. Its mystical splendor emanates from the timeless land and sea, dynamic scenery and majestic wildlife, captivating flavors and enchanting culture. A giant island afloat in the Great Southern Ocean, cut off from the rest of the world for millennia, this most ancient of continents has long hidden its startling beauty and remarkable native wildlife from the rest of the world. Inhabited by Aboriginal people who have coexisted with the land for more than 40,000 years, it was into this pristine wilderness that the British first arrived in 1788, and for the next 100 years, this beguiling land remained the haunt of convicts, explorers and spirited free settlers, who along with growing bands of intrepid gold-miners, pearlers, farmers and traders, forged an Australian spirit that is characterized by independence, irreverence, and a good dose of humor. Today, Australia dazzles with its contrasting landscapes and its extraordinary diversity. This vast, pristine land is affluent, sophisticated, multicultural and laced with natural splendor: from tropical rain forests to fiery red deserts in the vast Outback, from scenic vineyards, producing excellent Cabarnet Sauvignon and Shiraz to gleaming modern and funky cities, and from idyllic underwater paradise of the Great Barrier Reef to the Aboriginal culture and art.

It was a wonderful and interesting trip. The diversity of the landscape was unmatched, the places we stayed were comfortable and well-located, and Inga, our guide, was professional, kind and encouraging. She taught us so much about the culture, history and way of life in Iceland and made the trip even more spectacular. Inga also emphasised Sisterhood and this is one of the best parts of Sights and Soul trips - meeting new friends, enjoying the company of fellow travellers and enjoying the journey. If I could change one thing about the trip, I would add a day - some days were a little long and tiring and stretching things out a bit might have helped minimise that. But no complaints! And I can't wait to travel again with S&S!!!

Dear Terri, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and heartfelt review! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a wonderful and enriching experience in Iceland. It’s great to know that the diversity of the landscape, and especially Inga’s guidance made the trip so memorable. She truly is a gem, and we’re so glad she helped bring the spirit of Sisterhood to life on this journey. We appreciate your feedback about the trip pacing, this kind of insight helps us continue to improve and fine-tune our itineraries. We're already looking forward to welcoming you on your next Sights and Soul adventure. Until then, thank you again for being part of the journey!

The tour to Turkey was very enjoyable. Renata was an excellent tour director and added her knowledge of the area. Eje, the Turkish tour guide, was very good as well. The food (typical Mediterranean fare with lots of local fruit and vegetables) was delicious everywhere and we all really enjoyed the location and menu of the final dinner. The Conrad and Agora hotels were very nice. The Charisma was average however the location was very good with a balcony overlooking the sea, a beautiful sunset every night and the Turkish spa services were very good and reasonably priced. The itinerary was excellent--things that I expected and some that I didn't but really interesting. The hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia was magical! Thank you for all the behind-the-scenes work at the office.

Dear Barbara, Thank you for taking the time to send a review, and we are happy to hear that you had an enjoyable tour to Turkey. It is a new tour for us, and we are glad to see that the weather cooperated for the balloon ride! We will pass your kind compliments along to Renata and we hope to see you on another one of our tours soon.

I recently finished the South Africa, Zimbabwe,, Botswana trip in December, 2024. It was a trip of a lifetime. I have traveled on many international trips with Sights and Soul (as well as several other tour groups so I have a comparison) and they consistently have an itinerary that visits the major points of interest in a region. Days are full, transportation is efficient, local tour guides are well informed and very open to sharing the history and culture of their country with visitors. Kerry was our tour guide , and one reason that I chose this tour was that I had previously traveled with her to Viet Nam. She is calm, gracious and experienced. Two of the ladies experienced acute illness, and she arranged discrete treatment from local physicians. Flights on one leg of the tour were cancelled because of strikes by the ground crew in Johannesburg. Kerry and our South African tour guide got us rescheduled on another airline later in the day so that we would not miss any part of the safari experience, which is the highlight of this trip. She arranged for us to wait in an airport lounge area with free food and drinks. Sights and Soul Travel is a tightly run organization that does everything possible to make their trips run smoothly. Kerry is a credit to this company and is the type of experienced tour guide that can manage the challenges of supervising a group through the joy and excitement, but also the stressful situations that arise with international travel.
