I have thoroughly enjoyed this tour. You don’t have to be a Christmas enthusiast to have a great time at the Christmas markets in Germany. Since this was my 11th tour with S&S, I was not surprised that it included wonderful hotels and restaurants, entertaining tour guides, comfortable transportation, and a superb tour director, Marta. Marta is an experienced leader who ensured that each day turned out to be special. The itinerary led us to the prettiest places in Bavaria by bringing us to the four most worthwhile cities to visit. Two of them, known to be the best of 10 Christmas markets in Europe, were the feast for the eyes and mouth. The cheerful atmosphere was undeniable. The many hours of free time during this tour were greatly appreciated. I loved the pastel colored houses in the walled, medieval towns. My wish to see the famous Neuschwanstein castle came true, to see both the exterior and interior exceeded my expectations. Other historical building where we could see very impressive interiors was the Munich’s Royal Palace. So take it from me, the European born, who had grown up with the markets tradition, this S&S tour provides a very memorable experience.

The Christmas Markets tour with Sights and Soul Travels was the first time I’ve taken a tour so I didn’t know what to expect. But the tour exceeded my expectations. The Christmas markets that we visited on this trip were vibrant and fun. Our tour guide Marta was very attentive to the needs of our group. It was so well-organized with a good balance of daily guided tours and free time. The accommodations were wonderful and all the restaurants were excellent. I will not hesitate to take another trip with Sights and Soul Travels.

I’ve been looking forward to this trip for quite awhile and it did not disappoint. I loved the mix of excursions and free time. The Christmas markets did not disappoint. Our leader, Marta, was patient and kept us all informed.

Great trip all around. Well organized so that we got the full benefit of each area within the timeframe: Istanbul, Cappadocia and then back to Aegean. The guide, Marta, was first rate. Cheerful, patient and kept us on track each day. She was born to it! See you next year, Sights and Soul.

I recently finished the South Africa, Zimbabwe,, Botswana trip in December, 2024. It was a trip of a lifetime. I have traveled on many international trips with Sights and Soul (as well as several other tour groups so I have a comparison) and they consistently have an itinerary that visits the major points of interest in a region. Days are full, transportation is efficient, local tour guides are well informed and very open to sharing the history and culture of their country with visitors.
Kerry was our tour guide , and one reason that I chose this tour was that I had previously traveled with her to Viet Nam. She is calm, gracious and experienced. Two of the ladies experienced acute illness, and she arranged discrete treatment from local physicians.
Flights on one leg of the tour were cancelled because of strikes by the ground crew in Johannesburg. Kerry and our South African tour guide got us rescheduled on another airline later in the day so that we would not miss any part of the safari experience, which is the highlight of this trip. She arranged for us to wait in an airport lounge area with free food and drinks.
Sights and Soul Travel is a tightly run organization that does everything possible to make their trips run smoothly. Kerry is a credit to this company and is the type of experienced tour guide
that can manage the challenges of supervising a group through the joy and excitement, but also the stressful situations that arise with international travel.
